Dr. Dean Smith is a chiropractor, teacher and researcher. He has a private practice in Eaton, Ohio. His graduate education includes a Master's degree in exercise science and a Ph.D. in brain and cognitive science (motor behavior). His Master's level training emphasized the health benefits and consequences of regular physical activity on physiological, cellular and motor integrity. He has had hands-on experience working in laboratories using a variety of physiological and motion measures. Dr. Smith has had training in the areas of exercise physiology and behavior, motor control and learning, design and evaluation of fitness programs. In addition, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). His Ph.D. level training included perception and action, postural control, motor control and learning, ergonomics, statistics and visual perception. Dr. Smith has given both clinical and research presentations across the U.S. and Canada.
Dr. Smith recently received an International Chiropractic Sport Science
Diploma (ICSSD). This is the minimum qualification required to be part of a
FICS chiropractic delegation for a national or international event such as
the Olympic and World Games.
Dr. Smith's articles have been published in such journals as Human Movement Science, Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, Chiropractic Research Journal, the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research, and Chiropractic and Osteopathy.
