Case History:
89 yo male with pain, stiffness and tightness in his cervical and upper thoracic spine
Contributed By:
Paul Sherman, DC
Case Presentation: Page 6 of 7 Based upon the radiographic findings and laboratory tests it was concluded that the patient?s final diagnoses were as follows:
Primary diagnosis: RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) and DISH (Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis), aka Forestiers disease.
Secondary diagnosis: Myospasm and intersegmental dysfunction of cervical and upper thoracic spine.
Special Note: When the above two primary conditions are found together on a patient the diagnosis is referred to as RADISH (RA and DISH coupled together).

Based upon this final diagnosis and the patient?s age, what would be considered the most appropriate type of treatment for this patient?
