47 yo female presents with numbness of the left lateral biceps and left dorsal hand
Linda Simon, DC
The treatment that was chosen for this patient was trigger point ultrasound. This combination modality allows for galvanic current to diagnose where the lesions (adhesions and contractures) within the soft tissues are located, and allows for the pulsed ultrasound to dissolve the adhesions and contractures as well as bring blood flow to the soft tissues to promote healing and softening of the soft tissues. When using trigger point ultrasound to free up a trapped nerve, the adhesions and contractures are physically reduced allowing for proper nerve function.
This patient was also told to use wet heat at her axilla and to actively stretch the left subscapularis muscle by performing a child’s pose with outstretched arms.
This patient returned to my clinic two weeks after her first trigger point ultrasound treatment (she was on vacation) and her symptoms were reduced by 90%. She had one more treatment in my clinic with trigger point ultrasound and her condition was 100% resolved.
