The first test to perform is Allen’s Test to determine that patency of the radial and ulnar pulses prior to any Thoracic Outlet Test procedure. There are three tests that can be performed for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome neurovascular compression once Allen’s Test is determined as negative: Wright’s Test for compression by the pectoralis muscle, Adson’s Maneuver for compression by the scalenes, and Costoclavicular Test for compression from the clavicle onto the 1st rib.
