Initially the shoulder should be immobilized with strapping or a simple sling. Immobilization will be required for at least 3 weeks but possibly as long as six. Ice, ultasound and electric stim may all be used in the acute phase. After localized pain has subsided passive ROM exercise may begin. After ROM is normalized weighted exercise may begin.
