Consider the importance of controlling inflammation in treating this problem. The retrodiscal tissue posterior to the disc of the TMJ, anterior to the mastoid, is inflamed leading to pain as this is the region that produces pain.

Treatment Recommendations:

Spinal manipulative therapeutics, microcurrent to the affected TMJ to reduce inflammation and continuous ultrasound to the cervical spine. I recommend cryotherapy for this patient to use at home.

In the course of treating this patient I found that the standard cranial faults did not relieve this patient’s symptoms. It became necessary to therapy localize different parts of the patient’s cranial anatomy to determine if there were atypical cranial bone distortions.  In the supraorbital ridge bilaterally, a series of points was found that was responsive when challenged in the cephalid direction. Careful correction of each point provided complete relief to the patient.

Sometimes in treating cranial bones, it becomes necessary to challenge and correct in directions that may not be common but necessary.
