89 yo male with pain, stiffness and tightness in his cervical and upper thoracic spine

Case Presentation: Page 1 of 7 The patient stated that his symptoms developed gradually over the past several months. He denied any paresthesias in his upper extremities as well as any old or recent trauma and he did not recall doing anything to bring about his pain. His past medical history revealed hypertension (HTN), which is controlled with medication. He had surgery several years previous because of gallstones (cholecystectomy). He has no history of diabetes, cancer or heart disease and his general health has been good. Patient?s social history is negative for smoking and/or alcohol use.

Question: Based upon the clinical history, what are some of the differential diagnoses you should consider?
