Case Presentation: Page 1 of 4 History: The patient presented with primary complaint of right foot pain of 3 days duration. Pain was localized to the dorsum of the second metatarsal and second toe. She denied any trauma to the foot and could describe no definite precipitating incident. The pain was constant and burning in character. She stated that the second toe was swollen and tender. It was worse with weight bearing and ambulation. There was no numbness in the foot, nor any pain more proximal in the lower extremity. She stated that she was walking three days earlier when her toe ?locked? with sudden onset acute pain. She described having two similar episodes. The last of these was 3 years prior. She obtained immediate relief with chiropractic mobilization at that time. Her past medical history was significant for hammer toe surgery on the involved toe 8 years before. She was taking no medications and had no other health problems.
