Kentucky Continuing Education Requirements:

OTA: 12 hrs annually - Kentucky Accepts 12 hours of Online Continuing Education Courses

Special Requirements: Six (6) hours of suicide assessment, treatment and management CEU's must be received by 7/31/2016 and every six years thereafter if the license was issued before 6/25/2013. If the license was issued after 6/25/2013, the licensee has six years from issue date to complete the training, and then every 6 years thereafter.

Suicide Assessment 201-202 is approved by the Board for 6 hours. Approval # 15-15

Kentucky Automatically accepts courses from AOTA Approved Providers. OnlineCE is an approved provider of the AOTA # 4023

NBCOT: 36 hours of continuing education every 3 years. The NBCOT accepts 36 hours of OnlineCE courses.

Continuing Education Requirements by NBCOT

The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is the national governing body responsible for credentialing Occupational Therapists (OTR) and Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA). In order to maintain current certification as an OTR or OTA, therapists must meet all NBCOT continuing education (CE) requirements. A total of thirty-six (36) professional development units during a three year cycle are required. A maximum of 36 hours can be obtained through OnlineCE.com Online Continuing Education Courses.
