Chiropractic Physician Active Status Requirements:
Cultural Competency = 2 hours (see our topic: Cultural Competency);
Suicide intervention training - 1 hour (see our topic: Suicide Assessment)
General continuing education, which must include maintenance of BLS/CPR/AED certification – 17 hours;
First Year, Second Year and Senior Active Status Requirements:
First Year Initial Status - 8 hours which must include the following:
Over-the-coutner, non perscriptive substances - 4 hours (see our topic: Over the Counter Non Perscriptive Substances);
Evidenced Based Medicine - 2 hours (see our topic: Evidenced Based Outcomes);
Cultural Competency = 1 hour (see our topic: Cultural Competency);
Suicide intervention training - 1 hour (see our topic: Suicide Assessment)
Second Year Active Status - 20 hours which must include the following:
Pain Management Education - 7 hours (6 accredited hours in pain management, palliative care, and end of life care or a combination of both, and 1 hour of pain management module through the Pain Management Commission). (For the 6 hours, please see our topic: Pain Management);
Cultural Competency = 2 hours (see our topic: Cultural Competency);
Suicide intervention training - 1 hour (see our topic: Suicide Assessment)
General continuing education, which must include maintenance of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification – 10 hours
Senior Active Status - 6 hours
Cultural Competency = 1 hour (see our topic: Cultural Competency);
Suicide intervention training - 1 hour (see our topic: Suicide Assessment);
General continuing education - 4 hours
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers – up to 6 hours accepted towards General requirement

Cultural Competence Training - The State of Oregon recommends Cultural Competence continuing education training. Cultural Competency 201 has been approved by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) for such training.
Animal Chiropractic: Allows animal chiropractic treatment. No specific CE requirements but CE approved by the State Veterinary Board is acceptable towards CE relicensure requirement (all non-specific hours).
Reporting Requirements: Licensee affirms CE completion either Online or on State form
