Texas Continuing Education Requirements: Massage Therapist: 12 hours biennially
Texas Accepts 12 hours of Massage Therapy Online Continuing Education Courses (online CE is acceptable only if the subject matter is not massage therapy techniques or manipulation of soft tissue)

Human Trafficking for Texas Healthcare Practitioners
Health care practitioners who provide direct patient care must complete an approved human trafficking prevention training course in order to renew their license/ ChiroCredit.com/OnlineCE.com offers a course to meet this requirement that has been approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and meets all required HHSC Human Trafficking Training Standard. This training must be completed by the first license renewal starting with September 1, 2020. This requirement is for each renewal period.
This course meets the State TX Human Trafficking requirement and is accepted for 1 hour of CE Credit for relicensure. The NCBTMB is not accepting coursework in this topic for CE Credit
CE Due Date: Renewal licenses will be issued for a two-year period and expire on the last day of the licensee's birth month. The expiration date is noted on each license. Initial license is valid until the last day of the licensee's birth month in the following year, as determined by the department, and must be renewed on or before the expiration date.
The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) is the national governing body responsible for credentialing Massage Therapists. Massage Therapists must renew their board certification every 2 years. During that 2-year period, Massage Therapists are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education. Twenty-one (21) hours of CE must be from Approved Providers and three (3) of the 24 hours must be in Ethics. Candidates must also pass a criminal background check (performed by NCBTMB). There is a limit of 4 hours allowed in self-care coursework. The NCBTMB accepts 24 hours of OnlineCE.com courses. OnlineCE is an Approved Provider of the NCBTMB (#422983-00).
